I’m no expert when it comes to raising money though donations, but even I know that if you make something fun and easy you’re more likely to get people involved. Allowing folks to give a little at a time and tying the donations to specific milestones is another good idea. Oh, being famous helps.
Those are all at play in Anthony Rizzo’s Home Run Challenge, a fundraising campaign that allows donors to tie a specific amount ($5, $10, $25, $50, or $100) to every tater the big first baseman bakes this season. The pledges will be run after each homer, so it’s not like you’ve got to save up your pennies in the hopes that you can cover that $200 invoice at the end of the year. The goal is to raise $300,000 for cancer research and to support children and their families battling the disease.
Head over to the campaign’s landing page to make your pledge today. It’s kind of like being in a fantasy baseball league, except everyone wins. But if you’re looking for one more reason to get involved and join #TeamRizzo…
Let me know if you join #TeamRizzo. Everyone who joins before the game will get a RT.
