David Ross was unreal last night and was a huge reason the Cubs were able to win the game in the thirteenth inning (you can read about the game here). He picked off four runners at second base. Two runners were attempting to steal second, a third runner was caught straying too far off the bag and the fourth runner also strayed off the bag and Ross ended up getting him caught in a run down before being tagged out between second and third base.
Here’s a video of three of the pick off plays by Ross last night. Keep in mind, this is Ross picking off guys that were either already in scoring position or were trying to get in scoring position in a game the Cubs won 2-1. Without these plays, the Cubs could have easily lost the game. Nice night Mr. Ross!
