I can only speak for myself, and the Cubs fans I know and talk to daily, but I can’t wait to see the Wrigley Field crowd welcome back Starlin Castro today. If there was ever a Cub who held our attention through all the ups and downs it took to get to winning the World Series, it was Starlin Castro.
He was a player who we loved to cheer for when he played well. He was also a player who made us bang our head against the wall when he either didn’t play well or when he just flat out forgot during the middle of a game that he was playing. Whether you loved him or not, you couldn’t help but be drawn to him.
Starlin makes his first return to Wrigley Field today as a player for the Yankees and the Cubs plan to play a video tribute to him before the game. I wish I could be there to see it.
