It’s a damn good thing Cubs pitchers didn’t decide to start eating Tide pods or climbing milk crate pyramids because those things would actually be dangerous. The latest copycat craze captured a new participant Wednesday as lefty Jordan Wicks, the Cubs’ top pick in the most recent draft, joined in the deadlift parade by putting up a 525-pound max.
He even did it wearing glasses to show that nerds can pump iron too.

My sincere apologies to anyone who’s taking this really seriously and thinks such posts are indicative of a lack of journalistic integrity. All I’m really concerned with is that, with little else of real import taking place in MLB, pitchers throughout the Cubs organization are challenging each other to get stronger and better.
